JARED T WILLIAMS

I am trying to be honest and my work is usually about that conversation. The effort to be honest feels exciting, exhausting and probably impossible.

I am interested in wilderness and the shifting closeness and distance I feel to it when I am working and how that is related to my own sense of self.
I am pulled and repulsed strongly by tradition and I feel the presence of that when I make art.

I seem to look for the warmth and the heart in most things [in art and in the world].

I am trying to listen to and through all the noises of the self, the people I love, the people I want to love me, the city, the world and the things that live here.

I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1995.
